Tutorial:Creating non-English page

Non-English pages are governed by these rules:

  • the name and url of a page in another language than English is English url/language code;
For instance: Glossary:European Union (EU)/nl
  • a page name in another language can only be created if the corresponding page in English already exists; this is a way to ensure the principle 'English=mother version'.

In order to create a non-English page, the easiest way is to go to the English mother version and add '/language code' to the English url in the navigation bar on top, click enter and then start editing it (usually copying in a translation file received from DGT).

Non-English pages have an 'English' url (which in the page view of English pages appears as a level-1 header). In order to obtain a similar page view for the non-English pages and their correct display in the category pages, some features have to be added to them. The tutorial Creating non-English page provides a complete overview of how this can be done.
