Glossary:Regional intramural R & D expenditure

Regional intramural R & D expenditure consists of all expenditure for research and development (R & D) performed within a statistical unit or a sector in a region, whatever the source of funds.

It can be broken down by institutional sector, expressed as a percentage of (regional) gross domestic product (GDP) and related to the number of inhabitants or the labour force.
